Why TrashAlert Sensor?
Affordable
Enterprise sensors cost $50-200+. Ours is designed for households, not fleets.
Long Battery Life
Low-power design means months between charges. Set it and forget it.
Community Powered
Every sensor confirms schedule data for your whole block β neighbors benefit too.
Privacy First
We only track bin tips, not you. No GPS, no cameras, no surveillance.
Questions?
How much will it cost?
We're designing for affordability. Early supporters will get priority access. Final pricing will be announced closer to launch.
How does it know the truck came?
The sensor uses an accelerometer to detect the distinct tipping motion when the truck empties your bin. It's the same principle used in industrial waste monitoring, miniaturized for home use.
Will it work with my bins?
Yes β it's designed to attach to standard San Diego 3-bin system containers (black, green, and blue). Clip or magnet mount options.
When will it launch?
We're in the prototyping phase. Sign up to be notified when we're ready for beta testers. San Diego neighborhoods with the most signups will get sensors first.
