TrashAlert answers one question: when is trash day at my address?

Type your address, get your pickup day and recycling week, and get an email the night before so the bins are out on time. It's free for residents. No account, no app required, no ads.

Why it exists

Every household hits the same wall. City websites are clunky. Schedules shift for holidays. Recycling is every other week in some cities. When you move, good luck. TrashAlert started in San Diego, where the city's own lookup tool needs a map interface just to find your day, and it has grown to 14 cities, one verified city at a time.

Where the schedules come from

Municipal open-data feeds (ArcGIS, Socrata and city APIs), direct hauler data where a city provides it, and neighbor reports. When you report your day, you help everyone on your street. When three or more reports agree, the address shows as verified. If we can't verify an address, we say so instead of guessing.

What's free and what's paid

Residents: everything is free, and it stays free.

Property managers and HOAs: a paid plan matches a whole address list and gives every resident their own schedule page and move-in packet. Details at /property-managers.

Privacy

We don't sell your data and we don't run ads. Address lookups are not stored unless you choose to report your schedule or sign up for reminders. Every reminder has a one-click unsubscribe.

Not affiliated with any city

TrashAlert is not affiliated with the City of San Diego or any other municipality. For official schedules, use your city's own lookup tool.

The Dash

TrashAlert is built by TombStone Dash LLC in San Diego. The name comes from the dash on a tombstone, the line between two years that stands for everything you did with your time. We build tools that give some of that time back. Never having to Google "when is trash day" again is a small one. Those minutes add up.
